    Summary

    This pilot study shows a simplified method for fitting toric soft contact lenses is effective. The new procedure successfully fit 17 of 21 eyes without diagnostic fitting sets.

    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate a simplified toric soft contact lens fitting procedure.
    • To determine the efficacy of fitting without a diagnostic set.
    • To assess the Hydromarc toric soft contact lens in a pilot study.

    • A simplified fitting protocol was used.
    • 12 patients (21 eyes) with astigmatism (-0.75 D.C. to -2.50 D.C.) participated.
