Summary

Alcoholics show visual-spatial task impairments. While some verbal task deficits exist, the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale Vocabulary subtest did not differentiate alcoholics from nonalcoholics, suggesting complex verbal functioning in alcoholism.
