    Summary

    A new colorimetric reagent, 3-(2-pyridyl)-5,6-bis(2-furyl)-1,2,4-triazine, was synthesized for accurate iron determination. This reagent effectively measures serum iron, with thiourea preventing copper interference and hemolysis not affecting results.
