Air embolism, a new complication of percutaneous nephrolithotomy. What are the implications?
Abstract:
We report a single case of air embolism following air pyelography in a patient undergoing percutaneous nephrolithotomy. The significance of this finding and the implications for gas nephroscopy and the use of irrigants, stone solvents, coagulants and local anaesthetics are discussed.
