Abstract:
The physical space of a treatment facility is conceptualized as therapeutic, in that it can facilitate and support clinical goals. A method for translating clinical concepts into architectural and interior design plans is described, and the environmental planning of a 12-bed psychiatric unit for latency-age children is set forth in detail.
