Abstract:
Chronic otitis media can be successfully managed by purposeful and aggressive medical therapy. Frequent and meticulous debridement, topical treatment, and adjunctive systemic antibiotics should be used. Medical treatment is appropriate either as a curative measure, or for preoperative preparation of the ear.
