[Social inequality of mortality in France (1975-1980): a longitudinal study]

This paper describes a method used in France in order to observe the mortality differences among socio-economic groups: this is a follow-up study which uses a population sample from the census files. This paper presents also some results regarding the probabilities of death among social groups, shows the trends of these differences during the last decades and gives an overview on the main causes of death responsible for this social gradient.
