Postanal repair in the treatment of faecal incontinence

The results of postanal repair in 16 patients with faecal incontinence are reported. Ten patients became asymptomatic after surgery, in two the condition improved, while no changes were noted in four. Manometric studies did not correlate with the clinical outcome in these patients; their precise role has to be defined.
