[An autopsy case of epithelioid sarcoma in the pelvis]
Abstract:
A case of epithelioid sarcoma in the pelvis of a 39-year-old married woman was reported. The histologic features of this tumor, which consisted of irregular-shaped epithelioid cells and a few spindle-shape fibroblast-like cells with necrotizing foci, were quite similar to those in previous reports. The tumor invaded blood vessels, metastasized to lungs and produced death one year after it was first discovered. The literature was reviewed and no previously reported case of epithelioid sarcoma in the pelvis was not found.
