Abstract:
Reciprocity is necessary in every relationship, if the relationship is to continue to exist. The present study was conducted to determine the functional components of reciprocity and their influences on maintaining and sustaining closest friendships. It examined specific criteria functionally associated with reciprocity in closest friendships on the basis of subjects' responses. Results suggested significant differences between males and females among five criteria.
