    Background:

    • Subsequent pneumoencephalography revealed large suprasellar masses in all three patients.

    • The identified suprasellar masses were surgically confirmed as partially cystic craniopharyngiomas.
    • These craniopharyngiomas were isodense with brain tissue, explaining their non-detection on standard CAT scans.

    Implications:

    • The study highlights the limitations of routine CAT scans in diagnosing certain isodense craniopharyngiomas.
    • Pneumoencephalography remains a critical diagnostic tool for suspected chiasmal and sellar abnormalities when initial imaging is inconclusive.
