    Summary

    Brainstem auditory evoked responses (BAERs) and saccade eye movement studies detect brainstem pathway damage in multiple sclerosis. Saccade studies revealed more abnormalities than BAERs, suggesting a complementary diagnostic role.

    Background:

    • Brainstem auditory evoked responses (BAERs) and quantitative saccadic eye movement studies assess brainstem pathway integrity.
