Background:

Amyloidosis is a rare disease characterized by the deposition of amyloid proteins in various organs.
Primary amyloidosis, also known as AL amyloidosis, is associated with plasma cell disorders.
Macroglossia, or an enlarged tongue, can be an uncommon presenting symptom of systemic diseases like amyloidosis.

Observation:

A case of apparently primary amyloidosis is presented.
The primary clinical manifestation was macroglossia.
Diagnosis was confirmed through lingual biopsy.

Findings:

Lingual biopsy confirmed amyloid deposition in the tongue.
A review of therapeutic options for oral amyloidosis was conducted.
Limited stomatological treatment modalities are currently available for managing oral amyloidosis.
