    Summary

    Ibuprofen (Motrin) can cause toxic optic neuritis, leading to vision loss. Visual Evoked Potentials (VEPs) can help screen patients and predict recovery from this ibuprofen-induced vision impairment.

    • Osteoarthritis is commonly treated with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen.
    • NSAID use can rarely lead to ocular toxicity, including optic nerve damage.
