    Background:

    • Postpartum thyroiditis (PPT) is an autoimmune disorder affecting thyroid function after childbirth.
    • Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) genes play a crucial role in immune system regulation and are associated with various autoimmune conditions.
    • Previous research suggests a potential link between specific HLA types and PPT, but further investigation is warranted.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the association between specific HLA-A, B, C, and -DR antigen profiles and the occurrence of postpartum thyroiditis in Danish women.
    • To determine if any particular HLA antigen is overrepresented in women with PPT compared to a healthy control group.
