Abstract:
Sixty children with Legg-Perthes disease (19), bone tumor (27), osteogenesis imperfecta (7), osteomyelitis (5) and transient synovitis (2) were studied using 99mTc labeled diphosphonate. A number of benign or malign bone diseases of children need early detection in order to institute the best form--the fine form--of treatment. We recommend the bone scintigraphy in the initial screening of children with signs and symptoms of bone pathology.
