[Post-traumatic osteomyelitis in childhood. I: Pathogenesis and clinical aspects]

Abstract:
In part I the peculiarities of the juvenile bone is dealt with. Clinical course and radiologic findings of posttraumatic osteomyelitis in this age group are quite different from adult age.--In part II our experiences with 16 juveniles up to the age of 15 years, suffering from posttraumatic osteomyelitis, are discussed. Treatment includes opening of infected bone cavities, débridement, drainage, early removal of fixating devices, sequestrectomy, immobilisation.
