[Early roentgen control following total gastrectomy]

Detection of a ruptured suture is of primary importance in the early postoperative X-ray examination after total gastrectomy. We try to improve the diagnostic information by a modification of the exploration technique. Water soluble contrast medium is applied via the indwelling gastric tube. Optimal visualisation of the anastomosis area is attained by changing the position of the tip of the tube under fluoroscopy. The results of 67 tube examination are analyzed.
