    Summary

    A sixty-six-year-old man developed bilateral renal masses after chemotherapy for lymphoma. Kidney biopsy revealed benign renal oncocytomas, sparing him further cytotoxic therapy.

    Background:

    • A 66-year-old male patient with poorly differentiated, diffuse lymphoma was undergoing chemotherapy.
    • The patient developed bilateral multiple renal masses six months into treatment.

    Observation:

    • Diagnostic imaging, including computerized tomography and selective renal arteriograms, suggested either lymphoma recurrence or renal cell carcinoma.
    • These findings necessitated further investigation to determine the nature of the renal masses.

    Findings:

    • Kidney biopsy confirmed the presence of renal oncocytomas, which are benign renal tumors.
    • The diagnosis of benign oncocytomas ruled out malignant recurrence or primary renal malignancy.
