    Background:

    • Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic demyelinating disease affecting the central nervous system.
    • Depression is a common comorbidity in MS, impacting quality of life.
    • The relationship between lesion location and psychiatric symptoms in MS requires further elucidation.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the association between the location of demyelination in multiple sclerosis and the prevalence of major depressive episodes.
    • To compare depressive symptoms and episodes between MS patients with predominantly cerebral involvement versus those with predominantly spinal cord and cerebellar involvement.

    Main Methods:

    • Thirty multiple sclerosis patients were divided into two groups: 15 with cerebral involvement and 15 with spinal cord/cerebellar involvement.
