[Comparative survey concerning methods of vestibular exploration used in 10 Western European countries]

For the first time, a survey was conducted in 10 western European countries to compare methods used for vestibular exploration. Statistical analysis of findings showed that apart from spontaneous tests there was a tendency for aqueous, gaseous, rotatory, pendular instrumental tests to be used with increasing frequency, with more widespread application of electronystagmography. Finally, there appears to be marked similarities between and even standardization of the methods used in the different countries.
