    Background:

    • Previous research suggested d-amphetamine impairs short-term memory (STM) by increasing arousal.
    • Amphetamine's known effects on motor activity and appetite complicate interpretation of memory deficits.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the specific effects of d-amphetamine on spatial memory in rats.
    • To differentiate drug effects on memory from performance changes.

    Main Methods:

    • Rats were trained on a radial maze task with varying retention intervals.
    • d-amphetamine was administered at different times relative to the to-be-remembered event (TBRE).
