In working with this population, special consideration should be given to the specific problems that make drug use in the elderly more complex. One area that is often not considered is cognitive aspects of information receipt, storage, retrieval, and utilization. By considering these factors in working with the elderly, more appropriate and useful outcomes may be achieved.
