[Long-term studies in patients with skull and brain injuries]
Abstract:
105 patients with frontobasal injury were examined and treated from 1974 to 1980 at the Essen University Clinic. 98 patients were included in the catamnestic examination. The follow-up time was between 20 and 60 months, the average being 50 months. Of the survivors, about one-third of the patients showed a performance deficiency of the brain, but it was not possible to clearly differentiate between the frontobasal and frontoconvex syndromes in accordance with CT findings. 55 of the 75 survivors progressed favourably.
