[Errors in the diagnosis of traumatic ruptures of the diaphragm]

Traumatic ruptures of the diaphragm were analyzed in 18 cases. The main causes of errors in the diagnosis of the injury were considered to be the following ones: 1. the underestimation or misunderstanding of different clinico-roentgenological forms of injuries of the diaphragm and resulting peculiarities of the course of the disease; 2. simultaneous injuries of the abdominal cavity organs; 3. the underestimation of severity of the trauma.
