    Summary

    Background:

    • Intraocular lenses (IOLs) are commonly implanted after cataract surgery.
    • Assessing binocular vision and visual function post-IOL implantation is crucial for patient outcomes.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate binocular vision function in patients implanted with Binkhorst-type four-loop IOLs.
    • To assess visual acuity, refractive outcomes, and stereopsis after extracapsular surgery.

    Main Methods:

    • Orthoptic tests including cover test, Worth-test, Lang's two-pencil-test, TNO-test, and Lang's stereo-test were performed.
    • 107 patients were evaluated 3 to 10 months after receiving Binkhorst-type four-loop IOLs via planned extracapsular surgery.

    • 95% of patients achieved visual acuity of 0.5 or more; 53% achieved 0.8 or more.
