    Background:

    • Polymorphous light eruption (PLE) is a common photodermatosis triggered by ultraviolet radiation.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy of oral photochemotherapy (PUVA) in preventing polymorphous light eruption (PLE) on a large scale.
    • To establish criteria for indicating PUVA treatment in PLE patients.
    • To develop a simple method for differentiating UVA-induced from UVB-induced PLE using patient history.

    • A cohort of 106 PLE patients (85 UVA-induced, 21 UVB-induced) was studied.
