    Background:

    • Stasis dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory skin condition often associated with venous insufficiency.
    • Keratoacanthoma is a rapidly growing benign skin tumor.

    Observation:

    • A patient presented with stasis dermatitis that developed a keratoacanthoma.
    • The eczematous dermatitis showed exacerbation during periods of deep tissue inflammation.

    Findings:

    • The keratoacanthoma followed a typical growth pattern, unaffected by the underlying stasis dermatitis.
    • This represents the first documented case of keratoacanthoma arising in the context of stasis dermatitis.

    Implications:

    • This finding expands the known associations of keratoacanthoma development.
    • Highlights the importance of monitoring chronic skin conditions for neoplastic changes.
