    Summary

    Iohexol is a safe contrast agent for lumbar myelography, showing very few adverse reactions in a phase II clinical trial. Psychic reactions and significant changes in CSF or EEG were not observed.

    Background:

    • Lumbar myelography is a diagnostic procedure used to visualize the spinal canal.
    • Iohexol is a non-ionic, iodinated contrast medium.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the safety and tolerability of iohexol for lumbar myelography.
