    Summary

    High-frequency audiometry significantly improves early detection of diabetic hearing loss (hypoacusis diabetic neuro-sensorica) in diabetes mellitus patients. This advanced method identified hearing issues in 45% of cases, compared to 21% with standard audiometry.

    • To evaluate the efficacy of high-frequency audiometry in detecting hearing loss in diabetic patients.
    • To compare high-frequency audiometry with standard audiometry for diagnosing diabetic hypoacusis.
    • To identify factors associated with diabetic hypoacusis.

    • 100 patients with diabetes mellitus were examined.
