[Campylobacter infection and the hemolytic-uremic syndrome]
A 20-year-old man with an acute enteritis caused by Campylobacter fetus developed a haemolytic-uraemic syndrome on the fifth day of his disease. The pathogenesis of the disseminated intravascular coagulopathie , the nephropathie and the haemolysis are discussed. With increasing rate of isolation of Campylobacter, the connection of this infection with HUS may be seen more frequently.
