Antero-lateral rotatory instability of the knee
Abstract:
Acute or chronic antero-lateral capsulo-ligamentous laxity of the knee is not always detected on clinical examination and is therefore wrongly thought to be uncommon. However, even in moderately mild lesions, the functional deficit is often quite severe, particularly in athletes. After discussing the aetiopathogenesis and clinical features of this condition, the authors deal in detail with the surgical treatment, and describe the Andrews technique which they normally use. The long-term results in 15 acute and chronic cases treated by this method confirm the effectiveness of this procedure.
