    Background:

    • Breast angiosarcomas are rare malignant tumors.

    Observation:

    • Receptor presence for estrogen, glucocorticoid, and progesterone was assessed in the cytosol of two breast angiosarcoma samples.
    • Estrogen and glucocorticoid receptors were detected in both tumors.
    • Progesterone receptors were identified in one of the two tumors.

    Findings:

    • Occupied nuclear estrogen receptors were present in both tumors.
    • Unoccupied nuclear receptors were exclusively found in the progesterone-positive tumor.
    • Density gradient analysis indicated specific sedimentation coefficients for bound receptors: 6S for glucocorticoid, 7-8S for estrogen, and 4S for progesterone.

    Implications:

    • The presence of hormone receptors in breast angiosarcomas suggests potential responsiveness to endocrine therapies.
    • Further research is warranted to explore the clinical significance of these findings and guide treatment decisions for angiosarcoma patients.
