    Area of Science:

    • Ophthalmology
    • Surgical Complications

    Background:

    • Blepharoplasty, a common eyelid surgery, rarely leads to orbital abscess.
    • Early diagnosis of orbital abscess is crucial to prevent vision loss.

    Observation:

    • Orbital abscess following blepharoplasty presents diagnostic challenges.
    • Physical signs alone may not be sufficient for diagnosis.

    Findings:

    • Ultrasonography is an effective tool for diagnosing orbital abscess.
    • The abscess cavity can be clearly visualized using ultrasonography.

    Implications:

    • Ultrasonography should be considered in suspected cases of orbital abscess post-blepharoplasty.
    • Improved diagnostic methods can lead to timely intervention and better patient outcomes.
