    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To determine the incidence of early postoperative jaundice in adult cardiac surgery patients.
    • To identify factors contributing to the development of postoperative jaundice.

    • Prospective evaluation of 154 adult cardiac surgery patients.
    • Exclusion of patients with preoperative hyperbilirubinemia (serum bilirubin > 34 mumol/l).
