Stress fracture of the second metatarsal after Keller bunionectomy

This paper presents a case of stress fracture of the second metatarsal after a Keller bunionectomy. Symptomatology of the lesser metatarsals has been documented as an occasional sequela of the Keller procedure. The following case illustrates the insidious nature of this complication, which is best prevented by the use of an orthotic with a Morton's extension.
