Why girls are good: a constructivist view

The genesis and development of "feminine" traits are explored, and the psychological consequences of women's self-concept being rooted in girlhood notions of weakness and vulnerability are considered. Female "goodness" is viewed as a complex interplay between the desire to be good and the fear of being bad.
