[Suggestion for technical facilitation of Blauth's knee endoprosthesis implantation]

Unsatisfactory seats of the prosthesis in femur and tibia within our clinical and roentgenological materials have been analysed. Upon this basis, the authors suggest some technical improvements with implantation of Blauth's prosthesis of knee joint as follows: 1) Preoperative exact plan of bone resections according to a.p. and lateral X-ray films of knee joint with the aid of cut-out X-ray films of the prosthesis and/or of our test-apparatus of femoral shaft. 2) Ascertain the horizontal line of tibia with the help of a vertical line of tibial shaft drawn preoperatively. 3) It should be emphasized, that finger groping during operation is indispensable.
