    Summary

    Domperidone, a dopamine antagonist, was studied for its effects on blood flow. Systemic administration decreased forearm blood flow and increased vascular resistance, suggesting a central mechanism rather than a direct local effect.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the peripheral hemodynamic effects of domperidone.
    • To determine if domperidone's effects are mediated centrally or locally.

    • Administered 40 mg intravenous domperidone to 10 normal subjects.
    • Infused domperidone directly into the brachial artery in four subjects.
