    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy of a work-based stress management training program.
    • To assess the impact of electromyogram (EMG) biofeedback and muscle relaxation techniques on physiological and psychological stress markers.

    • Volunteers participated in either EMG biofeedback (n=17), muscle relaxation (n=12), or served as wait-list controls (n=9).
    • Training involved daily one-hour sessions at the workplace for two weeks.
    • Assessments included forehead EMG levels, subjective tension, sleep quality, anxiety, somatic complaints, job satisfaction, and alcohol use, with a three-month follow-up.

    • The specificity of training effects and the long-term durability of physiological benefits require further investigation.
    • Both EMG biofeedback and muscle relaxation interventions may offer benefits beyond physiological changes.
