    Area of Science:

    • Dermatology
    • Oncology
    • Pharmacology

    Background:

    • Lymphomatoid papulosis is a rare skin condition.
    • Current treatments have variable efficacy.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy of methotrexate in treating lymphomatoid papulosis.
    • To compare methotrexate's effectiveness against PUVA therapy.

    Main Methods:

    • Three patients with lymphomatoid papulosis received weekly oral methotrexate (5-25 mg).
    • Clinical response and skin biopsies were assessed.

    Main Results:

    • All three patients achieved a good clinical effect.
    • Skin biopsies showed no signs of lymphomatoid papulosis post-treatment.
    • Methotrexate demonstrated significant control over the condition.

    Conclusions:

    • Weekly oral methotrexate is an effective treatment for lymphomatoid papulosis.
    • Methotrexate may be superior to PUVA for managing this condition.
