    Summary

    This study found that higher ocular pressure is linked to lower anterior ciliary arterial pressure in patients. This suggests blood flows from inside the eye outwards, impacting intraocular pressure management.

    Background:

    • Intraocular pressure (IOP) is a critical factor in eye health.
    • Understanding the relationship between ocular hemodynamics and IOP is essential for diagnosing and managing eye conditions.
    • Anterior ciliary artery pressure is a potential indicator of ocular blood flow.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the correlation between ocular pressure and anterior ciliary arterial pressure.
    • To explore the implications of this relationship on ocular blood flow direction.

    Main Methods:

    • Utilized a modified pressure chamber to measure anterior ciliary artery pressure.
    • Included 40 subjects: 9 normal, 16 ocular hypertensive, and 15 primary open-angle glaucoma patients.
