    This case report details successful treatment of chronic sclerosing osteomyelitis of the clavicles using curettage. The condition, caused by resistant Staphylococcus aureus, resolved with no recurrence after one year.

    Background:

    • Chronic sclerosing osteomyelitis (CSO) is a rare, persistent bone infection.
    • Osteomyelitis of the clavicle is uncommon, particularly the chronic sclerosing form.
    • Staphylococcus aureus is a common pathogen in osteomyelitis.

    Observation:

    • An unusual case of bilateral chronic sclerosing osteomyelitis affecting both clavicles was observed.
    • The causative agent identified was a resistant strain of Staphylococcus aureus.
    • The patient presented with symptoms indicative of chronic bone infection.

    Findings:

    • Surgical intervention involving curettage of the affected clavicular lesions was performed.
    • The procedure resulted in complete healing of the osteomyelitis.
    • The patient experienced significant symptomatic relief following the intervention.

    Implications:

    • Curettage is an effective treatment for chronic sclerosing osteomyelitis of the clavicle, even with resistant bacteria.
    • This case highlights the importance of surgical management in recalcitrant bone infections.
    • Long-term follow-up confirmed the sustained efficacy of the treatment, with no recurrence at one year.
