    Background:

    • Newcastle disease (ND) poses a significant threat to poultry production worldwide.
    • Effective vaccination strategies are crucial for controlling ND outbreaks.
    • The lyophilised Newcastle disease (ND) "F" vaccine is commonly used in broiler chickens.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy of the lyophilised Newcastle disease (ND) "F" vaccine in broiler chickens.
    • To assess protection levels against virulent Newcastle disease virus (NDV) challenge at different ages.
    • To correlate vaccine efficacy with haemagglutination inhibition (HI) antibody levels.

    Main Methods:

    • Two field trials involving 2,000 broiler chickens.
    • Vaccination with lyophilised ND "F" vaccine at 1, 21, and 42 days of age.
    • Challenge with virulent NDV via intramuscular, intranasal, and contact routes at 14, 35, 56, and 70 days.
