Abstract:
A new technique of V-shaped colorectoplasty avoiding the problems and dangers of low subperitoneal colorectal anastomossis is described. THe technique results in a low and wide anastomosis at a distance from the sacrum. It has been used in 51 patients, with one death from fistual. The functional results were very satisfactory. No stenosis was observed, even in cases with perianastomotic sepsis.
