Activation of human serum complement stimulates prostacyclin production by isolated rabbit peritoneum

Further evidence was obtained for the existence of a direct link between the complement system and the arachidonic acid cascade, two systems that provide mediators for inflammatory reactions. PGI2 production by isolated rabbit peritoneum was found to be significantly enhanced in the presence of activated human serum.
