    Summary

    T cell differentiation in nude mice is abnormal, with altered phenotypes and reduced diversity. Treatment with thymopoietin analogue (TP-5) partially restored T cell populations and diversity in athymic mice.

    Background:

    • T cell differentiation and diversity in nude athymic mice are poorly understood.
    • Athymic mice lack a thymus, crucial for T cell maturation.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate T cell differentiation and phenotypes in nude athymic mice.
    • To assess the effects of thymopoietin analogue (TP-5) on T cell populations.

    • Analysis of splenic T cells from pathogen-free and germ-free nu/nu mice.
