    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the effects of splenectomy in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and splenomegaly.
    • To assess the impact of splenectomy on hematological parameters, metabolic rate, and medication requirements.
    • To compare outcomes of splenectomy with non-splenectomized patients and other treatment modalities.

    • Retrospective study of 42 patients with CLL who underwent splenectomy.
    • Analysis of pre- and post-operative data including spleen weight, hemoglobin, platelet count, and metabolic rate.
