[Selective aminoacidemia in essential tremor]

The paper is related to a study of the blood concentration of free amino acids in idiopathic tremor by means of a high voltage electrophoresis with subsequent ascending chromatography. The studied group consisted of 20 patients (9 males and 11 females of 18--70 years of age). The control group included 30 normals (males and females of 18--48 years). The study demonstrated a selective increase of lysine and cystine in the blood, which exceeded the normal content several times. An investigation of the spectrum of free amino acids may be utilized for differential-diagnosis-diagnosis purposes and in cases of difficulties in diagnosis.
