The effect of actinomycin D on serum gonadotropin response patterns to continuous LH-RH infusions

Abstract:
Serum gonadotropin response patterns to LH-RH infusions were investigated in women with and without actinomycin D treatment. LH and FSH levels increased until 60 min in the non-ovarectomized premenopausal women and until 120 min in ovarectomized women after infusion in both groups. But, thereafter the levels in women untreated with actinomycin D were much higher than in women treated with actinomycin D. These results support the view that the LH-RH-stimulated -synthesis of gonadotropin involves increased RNA synthesis.
